It quite likely is bullshite. I’m just passing along the story. I never worked at an oil change place.

Always do my own. I can do it quicker. Pickup 13 quarts and a filter on the way home from work on a Friday. Fill the empty jugs after the change. Drop them off at the store on the way into work on Monday, or if I’m out and have time over the weekend. Takes 10 to 15 min max. 30 min if it is time for the fuel filters.
Wife takes hers to BQuick. I changed hers once, it is a PITA. Low to the ground, skid plates, filter mounted sideways... I swear they designed it to spill most of the oil during an oil change.
