I'd be fine with several losing years if we could clean house. Get rid of basically everyone. Otherwise do some serious backgrounding on anyone that wants to stay including hiring private investigators and polygraphs. In the long run, having a program that we can be proud of would be worth it. And, you can run a clean program and win. Under this new culture, have coaches communicate to the high school coaches that a player being a "character guy" is the expectation and not something to be considered noteworthy. No more high school coaches covering for their players and expecting to roll into LSU. Setting the proper tone from the top will set the right expectations down to high schools and middle schools. Let the kids know that before LSU awards them a scholarship, they will be interviewed, teachers interviewed, references checked, social media checked, etc. If they are a scumbag, they can go play for ULL. Giving a bad guy a scholarship is a reputational risk to LSU and also financial risk - it's just not worth it (as current events prove). Put into coaches contracts, interfering with police, pushing influence to cover for their players' bad behavior and criminal acts will no longer be tolerated and will result in firing with no buy out. Obviously, none of this will actually happen. Too many people (some even post on TD) prioritize winning (and vicarious pleasure of a team they aren't a member of) over honor.
