It’s only given subcutaneous in the fat like insulin, not into the muscle. That’s why they use the abdomen. Hospitals get penalized if a patient gets a dvt after surgery or hospitalization, plus potential law suits. I was recently in hospital for 2 nights but they didn’t give it to me, just baby aspirin.
