I'm assuming school choice is somehow racist

And I’d assume the vast majority of blacks would love school choice

So, they actually already have it

Magnet schools, in Birmingham it’s Ramsey, Montgomery has Brew Tech

Wealthy and influential folks get their kids in. Smart kids that are motivated can also get in.

This is not unique to Abalama (sic)

Ramsey is one of the top ranked schools in Alabama, it’s actually really interesting, same percentage of students college bound as Mt Brook, both schools ranking towards the top in GPA and college bound for AL, exact opposite racial makeup for students

You would think so wouldn't you.

I suppose, if you make this change to late in the game, the student would be so far behind at the new school they would be destined for failure.

I couldn't speak to the vast majority, but for those who do care, charter schools and other methods of school choice are a godsend. To get your kids in somewhere that the teachers care, the parents care, and the other kids are competing can change kids' lives.
