I think the difference between good, higher priced tequila and the cheap and/or budget stuff may be the most stark of all liquors. I like a good (relatively) high end glass of bourbon. But I'm happy to drink Buffalo Trace or Makers as well. But cheap tequila is flat out awful. I mean immediately want to throw up awful. However, the higher priced stuff is great.

I used to be like you and avoid tequila like the plague until I had some of the more expensive bottles. Now it is my go to spring/summer drink.
