I really hope Max Johnson improves on his deep ball

I may be in the minority but I thought he struggled with the deep ball last year. I know he will only get better because he has everything else you want in a quarterback. I feel confident that coach Peetz and the off-season with the wrs will help his accuracy on his deep ball. If he gets that down, watch out! I still won’t count out Brennen or Finley. All three are talented and I’m so happy that we don’t have to push a true freshman out there like years past. I feel great about our quarterback room and the future going forward with who we have and who we have coming.

He definitely struggled with it, and that’s putting it lightly. Posters here refuse to acknowledge this and act like he’s QB1.
Brennan is the guy, and if max doesn’t get some SERIOUS improvement going, Nuss will be the guy when Brennan leaves.
I love Max but, damn he’s overrated on this board.

Every time I see him throw I see touch but he lacks velocity...

Max Johnson knows how to go in deep

The problem with the deep ball for all the QB was 2 fold. The main one was the OL who couldn’t hold long enough for a long ball. The other was the WR who were not good enough early on but developed. A third might be the fact that we never had a RB who was a passing threat like CEH and it allowed for far more double coverage.

The concepts last year were piss poor. Hard to draw anything off of them.
