Air Force embarrassing the Navy.

And you are basing that on… What exactly?
Simply standing still for a couple of seconds to get a clear photo would be enough. How’s that for drama?

I don't think aliens would reveal themselves with such a flair of human drama.
If in fact they did exist, what makes you think that you could know their thoughts/intentions and predict their behaviors/abilities?
We call prescribing human thought to animals anthropomorphism. Not sure what you would call it for alien life but the logic holds.

Either way, it doesn’t sound like some eco-terrorist or antiwar group went down to the local radio hut & bought a small fleet of drones just to make a political statement, does it?
I was workibg with one company that has developed a drone with onboard munitions for use in 3rd world countries to fight off people tapping into gas and oil transmission pipelines. Seriously, this would never get off the ground in the US and most of the world, but in some African countries, that's not a problem. Once I found out and reported back to management we pulled the plug on further development support.

That just doesn't sound like the aliens I know.

Where did I imply any sense of belief or disbelief. I am agnostic but find the topic interesting.
Not sure if your tone is joking or condescending. Really does not matter as I believe we can both take care of ourselves.

The drones were able to stay aloft for 90 minutes or more, surpassing the capability of commercially available drones, and covered at least 100 nautical miles in one case, the report said, citing the locations of ships that reported spotting the aircraft. According to ship logs, the drones were also able to fly at the same speed as a destroyer traveling at 16 knots in low-visibility conditions, which is defined as less than 1 nautical mile of visibility.

Even as military officers tried to gather information about the July 14-15 incidents, more drones were spotted flying near warships in the early morning on July 25 and July 30, the report said.

Yes. No one wanted to make that call without knowing what it was I guess.
And that - is the problem with the whole CYA and PC movement. Let's pretend for a moment that it was just civilians out flying drones. frick it. Shoot them down anyway. Any dumbass civilian stupid enough to fly their drones around any military shite deserves at a minimum to have their shite shot down.
