It's a parent's job to protect their children, not to lead them down the road of self-mutilation.

If a kid says they want to pick dog shite up off the ground and eat it... ya don't encourage them to do it.

If a kid says they want to stick their hand in a fire, ya don't get giddy about it and allow them.
