Lots of people still wearing masks here. Otherwise, it’s pretty normal. Everyone is out and about. There are no restrictions on capacities or anything else. I’ve not worn a mask except when forced to by work situations for the entire year. I’ve generally avoided any businesses that seemed intent on enforcing any mandates public or private.

Texas has a weird system in which the Federal Judge is like a Parish President or something. It’s not what you think
It is better to remain quiet and appear stupid then open your mouth and remove all doubt.

I went in several places in Corpus on Thursday and they literally told us “you don’t need that shite in here”.
I don't care if you wear a mask or not and think they shouldn't be mandated, yet I still don't understand why you people make shite up like this. No one, and certainly not several, told you that.

As long as the government isn’t telling people what to do then let the establishments decide how they want to handle it.
I guarantee you that people will find out which establishments don’t have restrictions and they will gravitate there. The other establishments will follow along or not be able to survive.
This. Good Ole fashioned capitalism will sort everything out. Overbearing business owners will change their tune when they see their competitors thriving while they hang by a thread. Amazing what can happen when you let the market and people do what's best for them instead of letting the government intervene

This reminds of of when people were all pissed about the government banning indoor smoking.
Businesses will suffer! I don’t know anyone who wishes they still allowed smoking. It was disgusting.
Masks are not even a permanent thing. And we’d be done with them sooner if people would get vaccinated like trump recommended

LA is more open than the peoples republic of the DFW metroplex
Other than pretty stringent mask requirements in the Nola Metro area, LA (including Nola) is pretty much open for business and normal.

We are pretty much wide open in Houston and just south of Houston. Some places still require masks, but that's a business decision.
I know a lot of restaurants have having trouble filling their staffing needs because of what unemployment is offering, so that might be why some places still have tables closed off.
