This. I preach it to everyone who will listen...the upper-middle is the punching bag for every other segment of our society. The rich get showered with tax breaks, loopholes, and subsidies out the arse (not to mention ability to pay for top accountants, lawyers, and lobbyists). The middle and lower earners consistently get breaks like the Earned Income Credit, child tax credits, hooked up with financial aid for school, free lunches, section 8 housing, etc.

The upper-middle? We are supposedly too wealthy to get the perks for folks not making enough but aren't wealthy enough to get the perks of being truly wealthy. Just constantly shite on.

I understand paying taxes is a part of being a member of society and I don't mind paying them. That said, it'd be great to be able to benefit from time to time.
