They basically said u swing this fast u need this flex and did the lie test. Said it didn't matter what brand or model of shaft i got because they're all the same. Where should I go get my fitting for my driver?

30 seconds of research would show you this isn't true. Crazy that people that do that for a living care so little

Maybe true if you're a 25+ handicap, but I bet even bad players could feel some difference in shafts that sit on the extremes.

How much was it?

I have enough knowledge about this stuff, just without the info on my own swing that I need to make decisions on what to buy and what length or lie to play at. If it’s not too expensive I might just go there

I don’t know if you can even trust their instrumentation, though.

I agree, their instrumentation is questionable. Having said that, I think that is less significant with irons compared driver.
At that store, it’s high dependent upon who is fitting you, and what kind of day they are having. I know that doesn’t sound great, but it’s true.
The way Edwin Watts/ world wide golf operates these days, I would expect better than Dicks, less than a specialty fitter.

if you were looking in the game improvement category of club and ur speed was a certain speed there is only so much they can do with their equipment.

Also, they can only fit with the shaft options given to them by the reps. If Ping only leaves 2 shafts for it's irons, then you only get to hit 2 shafts in the ping.

If I buy from EW, I'll go self fit. Have an idea of what I want to try and the optimal numbers I should be looking for. 12-14 launch with 19-2100 rpm spin for driver, etc. Just try to tinker till I get it close.

Contact James Leitz at Tchefuncta CC. He's one of the best in the country at club fitting. There is also the Rob Noel Golf Academy @ Money Hill, outside Abita Springs. Either one will give you a proper fitting.

I’m in BR and honestly don’t feel like driving 45+ minutes and pay $100+ for a fitting when my swing could be changing in the next few years. I want new irons because I don’t like the look or feel of the ones I have. I don’t necessarily plan on them dropping my scores. I want to keep golf business in BR so my plan is to use the mizuno optimizer at EW and put that shaft recommendation into some Srixons

If you are a 100 shooter and have a normalish just get dynamic gold s300s. It's the most basic golf shaft, not in a bad way, there is. If you play weekend golf and aren't good anyway having 400 more RPMs really doesn't matter.

This is coming from someone that got fit, but I also understand your attitude.

This!!!! I decided against going to James for my fitting snd regret the hell out of it. But, I’ll be working with him this summer on my game. He’s expensive but he is the legit best in the state by a mile.

Keep giving big money for pro style fittings and overpriced voodoo shafts when 99% of the golfers in the world don't hit it well enough or consistent enough to benefit anyway. You should definitely be fitted for loft, lie, length, flex etc. But other than that fitters are just selling you stuff, good lord we have dudes on here talking about putter shaft kickpoint lmao
