He is acting fine, eating, and being normal besides thats. Go to the vet or let it run it’s course?

Could call your vet, they will likely want to check him out, but he probably ate a bone or something that scratched the insides. If he starts being lethargic, stops eating or stops drinking you need to act however.

Exactly my thought process I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t off base

Most likely a urinary tract infection. Vet will give some antibiotics

I just leave my dog be unless an issue lasts for 2 weeks without resolution or they get lethargic or stop eating/drinking

Take him to the vet, you should bring a stool sample and they will test it. More than likely you dog has worms and they’ll prescribe some meds. Happened to my dog recently.

My older dog has been dealing with it on and off for years. The poo goes from liquid then to a gelatin like consistency with blood mixed in at times. I’ve been to multiple vets that all said it’s a simple upset stomach. The blood was attributed to a fissure as it was red and not digested.
What are you feeding him? My dog was one Pro Plan Sensitive stomach dry food. I noticed the liquid poo looked like the dry food was puréed with water so she wasn’t digesting it properly. I switched it up to half dry and wet of the same brand. She’s now been shitting bricks and gained some weight.
$3/can/per day is worth not having to pick up gross shite all the time.

Blood in stool. And you deduce it’s a urinary tract infection.
OP, if it persists past 24 hours I’d call your vet.

Sounds like hookworms.

Yep I bet he ate something he shouldn’t. Hope he passes it and will be fine. Keep an eye on him

My dog had blood in his stool, took him to vet and it turned out he had early stage pancreatitis. Kept him on medicine for 2 weeks and had to clean up his diet.

Diarrhea in dogs can happen for numerous reasons. Probably most commonly dietary indiscretion or even stress can lead to colitis. The blood isn’t that big of a deal, colon is very vascular and when it’s irritated it bleeds. If still eating and drinking you should be fine to see if self corrects. If at any point stops eating or begins to vomit then I would take In. Also as to parasites, if your on monthly heartworm prevention, that also prevents intestinal parasites so they would be less likely. Most vets would let you drop off a fecal sample.

Mine was doing the same when I got home. She puked a few times yesterday. She's going to the vet in the morning.
