Majority protestant, don't want to be part of Catholic Ireland. And the Irish Republic, while paying lip service to unification, is not crazy about the idea of restarting the Troubles, and this time they would get to deal with it.

Irish Republic,

The republic already claims the northern six in their constitution. And what do you mean ‘this time they would get to deal with it’ - because Ireland never had to deal with shite from the British before 1947?? They had nothing to do with the troubles?? Ok

As of 2011, 48% Protestant, 45% Catholic, BBC had an article a few years ago about his NI might be majority catholic as early as 2021.

The funny thing a lot of those Irish Catholics don’t actually practice the religion anymore. They don’t attend mass or even so much as pray. They’re pretty secular. They just use it as part of their identity like most Westerner Catholics seem to do.
