help with AM workouts & early PM crash

if i run at dawn, i can’t hold my eyes open/passed on the couch tired by or before 7:30pm. i’ll wake up between 12:30am-3:30am, lay there until 5:45am and repeat.
ideally, i’d like to be asleep by 11:30pm and awake at/before dawn for my run.
how do you manage your early morning workouts and still stay awake past senior citizen dining hours?

Why do you need to stay awake late? There is usually nothing important to do after 8.
If you want to improve athletically, you need at least 7 or 8 hours of sleep a night. If this schedule is still new to you, it may take a little longer to fully adjust to it.
I get up at 4:30, drink coffee for an hour or so, then run before getting ready for work. I usually fall asleep by 8:30 but sometimes it might be more like 9. Occasionally, I get off schedule during a vacation or long weekend, but it usually just takes me 3-4 days to fully adjust back. Sometimes, a Benedryl and 6 mg melatonin for a night or two helps to make the adjustment without losing too much sleep.

Define important? Do we all live the same lives/lifestyle? Maybe to function as a normal person that may want to watch a show or a sporting event that, I don’t know, started around 7:30 or 8?
Who would ask someone such an asinine and awkward question about why do you need to stay up late and by late you mean 8:00pm?
I know some family members that are in their late 70’s/early 80’s that don’t even go to bed at 8.

wasn’t sure if i was misreading it.
to answer his jackass question, most evening seminars don’t end until 6-6:30pm.
i’m struggling to keep my eyes open as soon as the clock counts down those last few minutes.
then allow for dinner, shower and time for research/reading/writing.
no luxurious 8pm bedtime for me.
figured it couldn’t hurt to ask other busy adults.
wasn’t sure if i was misreading it.

It's not even dark at 8 for a third of the year. I guess if you don't like sports or TV or have no friends crashing at 7:30 isn't a big deal

If you are tired when you aren’t supposed to be you are either not getting enough sleep or enough to eat. This can be etched into stone minus some underlying medical issues.
I don’t think the math adds up to run before dawn and go to bed about midnight. You aren’t getting enough sleep

It definitely wasn’t meant to be condescending.
It seemed like you were trying to figure out how to get up and run before dawn and stay up until almost midnight. Most people don’t do much after 8 o’clock most nights. I guess what I was suggesting is that maybe watching television for a few hours isn’t as important to you as getting up and running early. Maybe it is?

Maybe have a little caffeine later in the day. Like, half a cup of coffee around 1 pm. Or find something to do that will stimulate you enough to stay awake. Do some chores or find a hobby maybe? If you lay on the couch, you’re going to want to sleep. Stay off the couch.

6:45pm barely awake and pretending i’ll have time and energy for a weight workout

7:45pm accidentally sleeping
2:30am-3:30am wake up can’t get back to sleep and then i’m stuck laying there awake for 3 hrs until the sun is ready to come up again.
ideally, i’d like to make it at least to 10pm!
so, there’s a little peek into my sad life.

If you can’t stay awake for 14 hours that is not normal. Your body is not getting enough sleep or enough food to fuel the day you are putting it through. Plain and simple minus health conditions.

I don;t know how long you have been struggling with the sleep issue. If it has been less then two weeks, then you might still adjust to the change soon. If longer than that, you might want to get some lab work done just to make you you don't have thyroid issues.

yeah, i didn’t realize it was going to take an adjustment period. i assumed i’d be tired when it was time to go to bed regardless of when i schedule my workouts.
it’s only been about 2-3 weeks since i started morning runs. i’m about to fall asleep now tbh. my runs were all over the place this week, so i probably messed up my sleep cycle again.
