Have you looked into back feeding through your dryer?. It's much more efficient. I do this with a 6,500 watt portable and can power 3 small window units, fridge, lights,tv as needed.

My in laws did it that way - worked like a savior during Laura. Please tell me about how to build the correct cord for that set up.
It is legal, isn't it?
