fiance and I have never been to Hawaii, but we're planning to make that our honeymoon spot. what are some of the must sees/dos and the must misses on the islands?

we're planning to stay at Andaz Maui. have heard great things. any other info would be much appreciated.

So I assume you are staying on Maui the whole trip.

Obviously a lot will depend on COVID restrictions.

Maui must do’s:

Road to Hana
Dinner at Mama’s Fish House
Sunrise at Haleakala (my wife hated this lol but it is a thing)
Snorkeling at the crater

When are you going? Whale watching is in prime season this time of year.

Best Island and one of the better hotels
Since you will be in Waliea go to Fat Daddys Smokehouse and Da Kitchen both are amazing

Try Like Poke or Thai Me Up food trucks both are near the OGG airport

All the stuff to see and do has been mentioned for the most part

Don't go until you check all the COVID restrictions. One couple just last week was denied entry because the state didn't have the MAYO clinic on their list of acceptable testing partners. THE MAYO CLINIC?

Yeah, Hawaii is a mess right now.

If y'all are fairly active and think you might want to stray off the resort to do a little bit of hiking and sightseeing, check out Kauai.

From what I read though, the issue with that island is it's absurdly strict right now even vs the other islands, although that is expected to be reduced over the next couple of months (presumably vaccine situation will help a lot as well). I emailed a boat tour company there the other day as I'm also planning a trip, and he did expect to be back up and running this summer, albeit with no guarantees.

Sunrise at Haleakala and riding bikes down is easily one of the best adventures I’ve ever taken. I would recommend one of the bike tours that gives you the bikes at the top and then you return them at the bottom rather than riding with a group the whole way down

Bring a jacket when you go up Haleakala! Trust me... shorts and a t-shirt won't cut it!

I liked sunrise at Haleakala. Plan to do it your first morning there when you haven't completely acclimated to the time difference. It will make the early morning wakeup easier.

Also agree with recs for Mama's Fish House and the road to Hana.

When I stayed at the Grand Wailea you could snorkel right off the beach and see plenty of fish and turtles.

Maui is a great island with plenty to do and see. Enjoy!!
