I need some "help."

Being from Houston, should i plan to go the game this weekend? I cant decide what the smart play would be. Go, enjoy the game and potentially fight evacuation traffic on the way back, or just hand in H, watch it on TV and go the Troy Game next week.

I know i should probably wait til tomorrow to make the final decision, just hoping to get some opinions from the board.

Stay home. Is there anyway to get rid of your ticket?

Well played, sir.

Its just too hard for me to sit at home and not go to the opening game of the season.

I am in Southwest Houston and I am still going to the game. To me, if there is traffic, it is just a sacrifice to watch Tiger Football.

Go. Leave early Sunday and you should be fine. This storm has not even started heading north yet.

I'm going, I have a 6 a.m. flight out of NOLA on Sunday to Hartford, any guesses on the odds that plane will depart?

My guess is it will be called off. The weather will be no factor at game time, but if the storm continues on projected path, I'm evacuation orders will all ready be moving forward

I was mostly referring to the mass hysteria and traffic headaches. Im not worried too much abou the staorm since it wont make landfall til tuesday am.

I'm sure LSU will have an announcement by end of business tomorrow.

Took over 10 hours to get to Baton Rouge from New Orleans in 2005 and 3 hours from Gonzales.

I'm coming from Pearland and I'm going this weekend. I think I'll probably end up hauling arse back early Sunday morning.

I agree with this. The storm could take a turn and head towards H-town, then you'd be in a Hurricane and you missed the LSU opener.

I have this same problem. As of now, I am leaning to not going due to traffic. Even if you leave on Sun. morning, you would think people would still be evacuating, especially west. We still have Tom Petty at the Woodlands on Fri. as well as Stros/Cards on Sunday. All is not lost.

I am in the same boat gentlemen. I want to go but I believe even if you leave at 5 AM Sunday traffic is going to be terrible especially considering everyone will evacuate this time.I will make a decision later today.

Ditto, same scenario.

I really want to go and probably will. The storm won't hit til Tuesday, why can't i wait til Monday to come back to Houston?

A couple of questions:

1. Why evacuate West if the storm's projected path keeps moving farther West?(More people may be evacuating East rather than West like they did for Katrina)
2. I thought Contraflow stopped in Baton Rouge is that not correct?
