I'm just curious why everyone is keeping Beloso in the 4 hole right now?

I'm not crapping on Beloso, as I really like him and I am pulling for him to be successful; but right now his OPS is 6th best of the starters and his slugging is 8th best. While he does appear to have a little better approach at the plate this season (7 BB to 1 K), he is not hitting that well in the early going and when he does hit, it's not that hard (only 3 singles & 1 RBI).

Dugas has appeared to start putting it together the last 2 games. While he does have some more swing and miss in him, when he connects, it is going to be a shot and currently is better than Beloso in avg., slg., OPS, and RBI.

For lack of better options mostly for now. I think Dugas could be the man there but he has got to get way more consistent before you move him up in the lineup. We can't have the 4-hole guy striking out 2-3 times in games. That's part of what Beloso has been so good at to start this season (.600 OBP)...but is a little weird he's backed off on his home run power he showed as a freshman. You just assume the guy has still got it because he isn't a small gentleman, but last year rarely put it on display in the shortened season and this season he's been more hit for average guy and talk walks for sure...and that's really working well so far.

I think if Drost could somehow get in every day lineup and rake like he does he could be a potential land there as well.

The problem with all of this is we're conjecturing based on extremely small sample sizes. Dugas batted well the last week, but he might be back at .150 soon. Drost has had two(?) plate appearances.

For tonight, I'd like to see Travinski in the DH instead of Beloso, to face the left hander. If he does well keep it for tomorrow's lefty.
