I’ve got a shed with about 2-3 feet of space between it and my fence on the backside. It’s just dirt currently behind there. I want to lay some stones or something behind there that make it flat so I can use it as outside storage, like for my wheelbarrow. Considerations?

Dig out a few inches deep. Lay down a few inches of sand. Place flat pavers (or whatever you decide to go with).

Thank you! What does the sand do?

I did this behind my shed. I scraped the weeds, put a metal edge between it and the fence. Put down landscape fabric/weed block and poured road gravel on it. You can kind of see it in this picture.

levels the pavers. Helps with drainage as well. You’ll probably want some type of weed barrier under the sand as well

It's just 10x14.

Here is a more recent picture while I was building fence.

That's a nice shed! I would turn that into a man cave with a bar lol.

Thanks. I'm pretty proud of it. It's not very sexy inside. I do have a larger matching version in the yard that is fully finished for my wife as an office.
