Jordan Mickey had one of the biggest meltdowns I’ve ever seen in the NC State NCAAT first round game. He went from great to flat out awful in the final six minutes. It was the worst psychological meltdown I’ve ever seen. It’s worth a watch on YouTube if you’re not familiar.

This moment proved CJJ is a terrible coach. He couldn’t see that Mickey was having a meltdown and should have pulled him. Mickey’s performance could have been matched by anyone sitting in the stands.

Not only did he not see it, he kept calling his number and going to him down the stretch.

I'm going to defend Jones a bit here. Yes, the final 8 minutes for Mickey were bad offensively. But his defense helped keep LSU in the game despite the fact they literally could not get a FG. Mickey had FIVE blocks in the 2nd half to offset the fact LSU went 10 minutes without a FG. LSU was up 12 with 10 minutes to go, scored a grand total of 5 point the rest of the game and it STILL took a literal last second tip in to beat the. And its not as if Mickey wasn't getting good looks. He was missing from point blank. As frustrating as it was, I don't know what a HC can do to get a better shot. It was just a complete offensive meltdown on the biggest stage by arguably LSU's most consistent player for two years. Who was Jones going to put in? Darcy Malone.

Mickey was the goat, but he was far from the only guy missing shots down the stretch. With 9:00 to go LSU was on pace to score 80+ points...then the wheels fell off.
