You realize that SEC caliber doesn’t mean everyone is a 1st round draft grade, right? I think if you can throw 93-94 and 97 and throw strikes then you can pitch in the SEC. I certainly do. They just so happened to choose to go into the military. You do realize that teams have limited scholarships right? There is SEC caliber talent scattered through non SEC teams all over the country, including JUCO.

I just looked at the box score.

Vandy had 8 hits. And the starter they faced was 0-4 last year and isn’t some pro prospect. The reliever is a fifth year senior who’s pitched 18 innings in the last 3 years. Also not a prospect.

Way to go. Great example.

Sure. If that’s the minimum, you can pitch for Kentucky or Mizzou. That’s not a pre requisite for sec every weekend.

Usually because of grades or a want to be drafted after year one. And yeah I know about the 11.7 scholarships. Worst rule in sports. Title IX is an abomination.
