I'm fine with starting Thompson there today based on the defense he showed yesterday. We knew going into the season he would need some time for the bat to come around.

Safford getting a shot there would be nice too.

If Gio is out, Crews can play CF. Drost can play RF. Hampton, Sanford, Safford, or Beloso can play left.

Dugas can sit and collect his thoughts, I still think he can break out this year, but a 50% K rate ain't gonna do it.

I like this plan. Almost forgot about Drost and he seemed to be swinging it well in fall and spring scrimmages based on the few stats that came out.

I was very disappointed with how he looked this weekend based on all the talk and how he had been swinging in scrimmages.

But who would you have as DH if Beloso ends up playing LF?

I am lucky enough to have coached two players in this freshman class and coach against a few others in summer ball as well as high school in Louisiana. Safford and Drost are the two dark horses, I have seen both of these guys thrive and would love to see them get a chance at starting maybe a midweek game and get them comfortable. They are the definition of players with swag
