quote:Caught a show on Pluto TV last week where 1 of the producers and a couple of the popular tv chefs were reviewing an old Julia Child show from her PBS days.
Fresh, hot bread is my kryptonite
Turns out JC said she always aged her hand made bread 2 days before eating it and that the assumption of fresh, hot from the oven, bread was best is a falsehood. She admitted the smells did make it tempting. JC would even refrigerate her herbed breads before consuming or serving to bring out the full flavor.
Pretty interesting show with the producer pointing out that Julia had 5 copies of each stage of the cooking process in case of errors, flaws, etc.. There were no retakes, it was filmed live.
