I have a commercial property there. Its a really nice community. Its high elevation but fairly flat. March is not the best time to be there as I'm sure you realize.

- Its friggin' windy. All the time and unrelenting. Most people don't understand what I mean until they spend a few days in it.

- They have 2-3 good museums that are worth a couple of hours. One is at the Depot and one is an Old West Museum IIRC. Its been awhile since I've attended. There's also a botanical garden but I haven't been there.

- Downtown has a historical district you may want to check out.

- Food is kind of meh. Accomplice is a brewery there that's decent.

- There's a Taqueria that has Guadalajara in the name that's good, and there's a good Korean place and a couple of good pizza places.

Cheyenne is about 50k residents so these places will be easy to Google. Great people in Cheyenne. Hopefully you're not driving from SLC to Cheyenne because that drive is a surefire cure for insomnia. I forgot to mention that Ft. Collins, CO is only 40 minutes from Cheyenne and definitely work checking out as well if you have the time. Its a larger town with a bit more to do, depending on what you're interested in.
