Nebraska is sorta like Tennessee. 2 college football powers that have started to fade away. Nebraska ain't coming back. Let's see what Tennessee can do.

Never is a long time but Nebraska has more stacked against it than any other traditional Top 15 program.

I’d wager their biggest issues have been the elimination of proposition 48, the dissolution of the walk-on program, and county scholarship program. The rise of small FCS programs really siphoned off that talent.

Others have mentioned no longer having a TV advantage or strength and conditioning advantage. Those are huge as well.

Depends on what you mean by coming back.

The solution I think for Nebraska is simple- go to the Big XII, offer to join if another team- Cincinnati, Colorado State or BYU is added with you in a new North division (not UCF because UCF would be a powerhouse in a P5)

Big XII North
Kansas State
Kansas
Iowa State
West Va
Colorado State
Nebraska

Nebraska could win that division regularly with just top 30 recruiting classes which they still pull. Maybe upset Oklahoma in the conference title a few times. If not, they still go to big bowls.

I don’t care where a program is. If you can get 80K+ fans to show and your program is one of the premier programs in its conference, you can be top 15. Winning a national title is another animal.
