Chicken (rightfully IMO) is trying to keep the political discussion confined to the poli board. Overt political hackery on the rant will drive away the customers.

I for one liked it.
I remember in 04 they played it uneven. You could make political statements, but not pro/anti candidates, but pictures were allowed.
My Anti-W picture got whacked immediately. The pictures of kerry dressed up in that wacky blue suit stayed around FOREVER. No bias though.

I have sig quotes, sig pictures, and avatars all turned off anyway. To me they make it too hard to read the posts, and they clutter the screen.
