I’m sure it has novelty now, but long term I don’t think the specific numbers have much value. We already have this system in physical trading cards and different numbers have little influence on the price, especially at absurd print runs like 10,000. There is no reason for that card to have much value at all long term.

From a logic perspective I can see your argument, but I think the cat is out of the bag on this cadence in regards to serial #s. It would take massive market correction to skew the value back to some sort of median price.

And FWIW, I think TopShot is ok with SNs carrying that insane multiplier. There’s quite a bit of “gamblers premium” associated with SNs. That sort of dopamine rush when busting packs adds a lot to the pack-opening experience.

Maybe once TS implements its own version of blinged-out versions of moments, the whales and hardcores will start to care less about SNs. But for now I think it’s here to stay.
