It was within the rules.
The trick is having kids voluntarily giving their scholarship back. Then you need players like paul tyson and will reichard to play along and not visit campus.
Alsoz they have to pay tuition for 1 semester.

This is where it becomes shady and probably requires a deep infrastructure to operate. If they were just flat out pulling kids scholarships they would probably be in a hell storm of players, parents, high school coaches etc. speaking out about how Nick Saban is pulling scholarships. So what I believe they are doing is paying them not to make a fuss about it while also fronting money to incoming recruits for tuition. Tyson and Reichard are just two guys that can potentially pay their way. From my count there's 20 more that more than likely cant afford to pay tuition and if they can why would they when they dont have to somewhere else?
