600hp V12. It’s real. They just stuck another dagger in Yamaha. Will be around the same weight as their 1000lb 425, but 600hp is just the starting point.

I wouldn’t say that. The bulk of Yami sales are not the 425+HP.......and the reliability reputation of Yami vs Merc is still a wide margin.
Like saying Chevy has put a dagger in Toyota because they are dropping a 1000HP motor in a 1500.
Now, does this come into play with the top 1% of money people pushing Freeman’s, Invincibles, etc.? Sure. But the millions of bay boat and sub 30’ people are unaffected.
