FTR: A majority of the discounts for alarm system don't come close to paying the cost of the service. Very few companies or situations does the discount add up to much. If it does, it's probably time to re-shop your insurance anyways.

My monitoring cost is 300/year. State farm insurance discount for the alarm...411/year.
