The statement is relative to Brees, but it's speaking the truth about smart DB play. All he's saying is that it's tougher to get open in the short game when DBs don't fear the deep ball.

So, did Can'tGuardMike have any catches in the playoff loss? I'm confused, why does Can'tGuardMike need a QB who can reliably throw deep? Maybe he should consider changing his name to "Can'tGuardMikeIfIHavetheRightQB", but that's sort of a mouthful.

I think he is trying to take a shot at drew and get him to retire. If this happens he will get a new quarterback to throw it deep and not be called slant boy.

Why does Brees need to be able to throw deep to a receiver (#13) who can't get deep anyway?
