In general there’s been a recent resurgence of Pels National coverage from our slow start.
Windhorst was absolutely brutal to Zion about his defense and defensive rebounding in a podcast this week. Although to be fair, Zion kind of deserves it right now on that side of the ball.

The best encapsulation I heard about his struggles came from TBW guys and they summed it up perfectly IMO: paralysis by analysis and I think that is correct.
Too often Zion seems to be lost on his reads and in response just sort of freezes up. Or he makes a read but overreacts. Or makes the wrong read(like closing out non shooters). There’s some effort issues as well, and that goes for the whole team unless your name is Adams, but Zion’s biggest problem right now to me is mental.
BI also shouldn’t be without criticism and Lowe sort of talks a bit at times, but BI needs to be consistently engaged on that end if he wants to be the great player he thinks he can be and in recent games that has not been the case.
The good thing is there is zero evidence we have a KAT/Wiggins situation here. Where our core is just immature, indifferent, and outright rebellious about getting better defensively. Both clearly want to be great and great two way players, and to me they both have the physical tool and the right mentality, so I’m not worried long term. But in the short term it is frustrating to see the warts, slow progressions, and regular set backs
