I think its a little more #2 honestly. Spacing wasn't as much an issue last year so how would Griff know the shooting from Hart, Melli, JJ and Ball would fall off?
Defense was an issue but Griff hired a defensive coach and they got a better anchor in Adams and replaced Jrue with Bledsoe so I don't think he expected the D to be just as poor.

This right here.
He went out and got the pieces needed that should have fixed what ailed us last year. Adams has been great. SVG not so much.
As far as the spacing, we basically have the same roster as last season.
