That's harsh
There weren't too many bands around at the time I recall playing much Depeche Mode, The Cure, INXS covers like them. They had a nice sound. Can't speak to how they were personally, but they filled a live niche for that genre of music.

But truth. They were pretty cheesy even by mid 80's standards and they were early 90's. They were trying to pull this off a generous 7-10 years too late.

That was cringy and whoever managed them, I imagine, was probably late 40's who still longed for the prime Kingfish days.
You cant recover from trying to pull this off in their "prime."
