Pete Kwiatkowski to Texas as DC?

Sounds like it's almost a done deal. Massive hire for Texas and a massive loss for Washington. With all of his ties to the UW staff, Texas must have just thrown a ton of money at him. Pac-12 further falling off the cliff due to the revenue gap.

Looking at his bio... is it accurate that Petersen brought him in as DC originally, and Lake as just dB coach. Then one point promoted Lake to co-DC, and then later Lake to DC, and Kwiatowski demoted?

That was Coach K's idea. Lake was approached by multiple schools to become the DC so Coach K offered to step down into the co-DC role in order to promote and keep Lake. They have been friends for a long time which is why I'm shocked he's even considering leaving.

Rumor is that Texas offered $6M over 3 years, all guaranteed. He was making $1.1M at UW.

Bama was one of those schools, Saban wanted Lake for a long time.
