No one has said an ar15 pistol.
They are easy to handle. They are easy to aim. They will put down someone as well.
They can be suppressed.
They really are a good home defense weapon if you get the correct cartridge.

To quote our now-amazing president in his infinite wisdom, “you don’t need an assault weapon to defend yourself. Buy
a shotgun.”
I kid. The AR15 is an excellent home defense weapon and I don’t think there’s an issue with it in that role. The one area a handgun will have an advantage over it is if someone were to travel and want to toss a gun in their bag. It’s easier to transport and travel with a handgun.
