Left apartment to pickup boat at house and temp was 42 with 12 NW wind. 8 degrees warmer than last Saturday but felt much colder. Trailered around to public launch at hackberry and water was also a foot less. Lucked up and finished our three man limit of reds for 8:20 (live shrimp/1/4 jig tight lined in current) and hunted water for trout until noon. Had to idle a mile back to public launch with my guys up front but we made it back.
You fellas coming from other areas need to be careful down here when the tide is out, you might get out but not back in.

Fished there a couple of weeks ago and ran a ground right bedfore the Joe's cove cut. Worst trip down there ever. Water was funkity funk. And to top that off Hackberry fish camp had no skrimps.

Tide has been super low lately

Dang! I would love to see what the Old Revetments looked like. I would imagine all of the rocks would be visible with the tide that low. When I was a kid the rocks were all visible, all of the time, even with an extreme high tide. Not anymore. 60+ years of silt and settlement have made them more of a navigation hazard than a fish haven.

Waterline on the ship channel rocks was below them several feet. Buddy and his crew pulled out 25 sheets of tin around his dock wearing knee boots.

The river is dropping fast. All of the duck holes on Diamond are draining rapidly. It’s crazy what has changed in 36 hours.
