It’s anti human nature. Man wants to build towards a future not be a cog in a caste system. And the whole has to be a 100% buy in so any opposition must be removed and the bloody failure the system has throughout history

I would invite you to look up the history of Chile, modern-day Indian or British-occupied India. But look now further than our own country. In the US we a have profitable prison system apart of a larger prison system that has the highest incarceration rate in the world. And hundreds of thousands of homeless and millions subject to food insecurity. Would you attribute that to capitalism?

The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other peoples money - Margaret Thatcher

There was a interesting second order effect that may have been a cause of this that I noticed working in the former Soviet Union. Many anti-communists in the late 1980s and early 1990s were Physicists and other scientists and engineers. And they all had the same story, they would have done something else with their lives, but it was the only area of society not permeated with communist ideology.
Ironically I think we are seeing this in American Academia as well. Our best and brightest are avoiding disciplines permeated by the left and moving into pure science and engineering.

I can look it up, and it will tell me that Indians still shite in the street and the river, and that Chile has a lower average standard of living than people in the US.
Don't act smart unless you can back it up.

Socialism can only work in certain types of situations and government is not one of them. In my house hold it is a socialist utopia. I make and own all the money kinda like the government out of love of my children and the goodness of my heart I give them food, clothes, etc. Sure they provide value into the system they do something around the house and have intrinsic value to me but I decide how much their work is.
There is directional nothing keeping me from favoritism of one kid over the other. They live under my house and my rules.
Now imagine I am the government and you are the children. It works fine as long as you are willing to give up basically all freedoms and decisions over your life and your government treats everyone equally.

Sweden, Norway, Denmark seem like really cool places. I could get into that kind of socialism.

You want to abandon a system that works in the US, a system that has created the greatest economy in world history, because of something that failed in Chile? Or India?

They don't have socialism. They have market economies with big government nanny states.

Read a lot more history. It cured my of my leftist notions.

Thanks for answering and I mostly agree with this answer. I don’t think this country is practicing free-market capitalism in actuality but crony capitalism for the poor and socialism for the wealthy. I respect that you admit its not perfect either. Too many people get defensive and assert its perfect in every manner. I don’t think any system is “perfect”, and there’s always going to be flaws.

That is a benevolent monarchy, maybe the best system.

Socialism - government control of the means of production (which in America is effectively accomplished by excess taxation and regulation), characterized by policies that systematically redistribute wealth.
So socialism is different in America?
Taxation and regulation is not socialism. Even most every form of capitalism believes in taxation, regulation and the redistribution of wealth, including the forms that we claim to practice.
What you reiterated is just disinformation propagated from right-wing sources. It's pushing classical liberalism, or laizze faire capitalism, which has previously been discredited in the past many times, but the wealthy, along with the deep state that some of you claim to despise, keep pushing it because it benefits them.

They're not socialist countries. Look at the economic freedom index, lol. They have less regulation than we do.
They have one or two massive socialist programs, paid for by capitalism, lol.
Nowhere has a socialist program worked that there wasn't a capitalist somewhere paying the bill.

Tell me where it's worked. You eventually run out of other people's money.
Look at the most recent country.
Venezuela.
Maduro takes control of everything. Runs it all into the ground. Inflation spikes. Massive debt ensues. Multiple minimum wage hikes to appease the masses after the government full of do nothing retards kill the economy. Money is now worthless. They are down to one offshore rig working. Rolling power outages. Maduro is one of the dumbest people on the planet. We're talking AOC level of stupid. He was a fricking bus driving track suit wearing retard. He was a thug for Chavez and through fear has kept power.
Not through intelligence.
The richest nation in the South America with the most oil reserves in the world. Flat fricking broke.
All this inside of 7 years. Beginning in 2012. They took everyone's firearms first.
Think of it this way... People who typically don't know how to do shite end up being given spots and doing massively stupid things that cost a shite load of money and keep getting bailed out until there is no more.
A nation can hide a few dumbasses here and there but when they collectively take over we will collapse. All they know is...
Tax the rich
Raise taxes
Racism
Wokeness
Liberal LGBT gaslighting
Rinse and repeat.
Look how long they've been there. Even if they were intelligent at one time, doing nothing but run for office has dumbed them down. You ever listen to them speak??
Maxine waters
Joe Biden
AOC
Hank "Guam's gonna tip over" Johnson.
Al "the neanderthal" Greene.
Shelia Jackson Lee
Corine "Go Gata" Brown.
All barely literate. Once there are too many to function it all falls down.
Socialism eventually ends up with stupid arse people like that with all the power at the top. Nowhere to go but down.
Watch us here. They are already gaslighting dumb shite like climate change, gender shite, racism, minimum wage.. all to hide the face they don't know how to do shite or they are fricking us selling us out.
To many people out there are cats and they are welding flashlights.
Wake the frick up

Right, but according to what you said earlier they are Socialists. Idk how their regulations compare, but I noticed that you said nothing about taxation here.

Those countries just take more of your income and decide how much and how you should get back.

Pretty much all of those situations were because of choices made by the individual. Are you trying to tell us socialism won’t have homeless people or criminals?
