Interesting
“The Steelers are expected to promote QB coach Matt Canada to offensive coordinator, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. A creative mind originally from the college game, Canada also interviewed with the #Dolphins but now stays in Pittsburgh.“

They need to trade and get Russell Gage to run the jet sweep!

I think somebody here predicted that

From what I heard about the guy, he was kind of an a-hole and some of the players didn’t react well to his coaching style (coaches as well for that matter). I bet his style works better in NFL.
As far as his scheme/play calling is concerned, not sure. Will be interested to see what his offense looks like.

So Linehan and Canada are NFL OCs now? Boy that Coach O has an eye for coaching talent.

I bet OL doesn't do the pre snap "thing" !

Glad to see him get his career back on track.

I don’t get the hate for Canada his falling out with Orgeron was about starting then true freshman Brennan over Etling (who severely limited the play sheet because of his weak arm). Moreover O wasn’t committing to the passing game hence the prevelance of jet sweeps. Not to mention presnap motion which if you watched usually got leverage.
Does he have character issues 100% but he is a bright offensive mind. Wish him luck

Canada’s offense was pretty damn good (especially considering the talent we had...moved the ball on Bama pretty well too)
He and O clearly clashed...but I mean, look at Canada’s job history, he clearly clashes with every head coach/staff he’s on

Canada was not great, but he actually did pretty good with numerous undeveloped players on offense.
Guice was banged up with a nagging injury most of that year and missed some time/played injured. Canada did an excellent job implementing Darryl Williams into the offense. Williams finished as our 2nd leading WR that year while finishing 13th in the SEC in all-purpose yards.
LSU's top two leading WRs going into 2018 had 31 catches comined in their career. He did a great job of implementing Russell Gage into the offense with the jet sweeps and the passing game and he made DJ Chark into a huge weapon. Chark basically doubled his yards from the year before. If Orgeron wouldn't have messed with the offense against Troy and went for the TD on 4th and goal from the 1 with Guice or Williams in the bowl against ND, LSU would have finished with 11 wins.

Was Canada the problem or was O the problem? O couldn’t even sniff an NFL coordinator’s job much less another college HC job. Just being realistic here. Not bashing O

Their offensive players better get their conditioning in. They about to shift 10 times before they hike the ball.
