2007 #1 Ohio State vs. #4 Georgia #2 LSU vs. #3 Oklahoma

Va Tech goes over UGA, they won ACC and were 3 in BCS.

2008 #1 Florida vs. #4 Alabama #2 Oklahoma vs. #3 Texas

Would be an absolute travesty if USC didn’t make a 4 team playoff I think they go over Bama and win it.

Florida making it this year would also be a travesty. This is exhibit A to me why if they go to a 8 team playoff CCG needs to go. Basically this is rewarding Florida for losing to UGA. UGA was 3 going into SECCG plays #2 Bama, the loser of that is out while sits home? That’s BS.

These threads don't really work because the rankings would be far different with a committee picking the 4 teams

I stated in my OP that I was using the AP as the BCS did not exist in 1990 when this case study began.

Happened for Bama in 2017. They got rewarded for losing to Auburn.
