When you had Aranda, you had someone that both built and adjusted his defense to match what the other team did offensively. His defenses, when run correctly, dictated the match-up like most offenses do. My concern is this guy can’t do either. Where has he proven anything in a P5 environment? You cannot possibly tell me you will trust a guy that basically says “put your hand in the dirt and go”. That’s just dumb.

That’s just a dumb statement. You think a guy that has played the game, coached at college and nfl, only knows to tell a player put your hand in the dirt and go?
You think he hasn’t been a part of watching film, developing game plans, adjusting schemes week end, week out? Not to mention self scouting, player development. You think they defended Patrick Mahomes the same way they defend Tom Brady?
Good lord. Just pay attention to the nfl, they promote position coaches to coordinators all the time. Josh mcdanials, Ryan’s, Gruden, just to name a few. hell the giants h c was a position coach when he got the job.
