Tell them they’re knowingly withholding stolen property from the rightful owner which is a crime in Louisiana and Mississippi and you’ll report them for possession of stolen property.

To add to my original post, ask them via email what kind of condition the bike is in. Does it run? Is is banged up? Ask for pictures.
They’ll likely say it’s in great condition to laud themselves and make it seem as though they deserve some payment.
But really you’re getting evidence so that when you threaten them with the police if they damage it in anyway you’ve got them dead to rights there as well for destruction of property.
