I feel like it's similar to the Apple fanboy phenomenon. Being democratic/progressive is perceived as sophisticated, hip, and - most of all - "forward-thinking." That's why they wear the "progressive" label like a badge of honor.
Unfortunately, many of them are too unlearned to understand that being "forward-thinking" has gotten millions of people killed over the course of human history.

Here is the disconnect. There's nothing wrong with caring about parts of that except the parts where you want the rich to be less rich(jealousy isn't a good look)and the part about giving birth.
There is something wrong with thinking that the only way achieve any of that is thru government.
If you want the poor to be more comfortable there's nothing stopping you from giving them everything you own or from convincing others from doing the same. There's nothing stopping you from hiring poor people and paying them a shite ton of money. However, you just want to take the easy way out and force other people to support the poor. You also know that poor people are poor for a reason and throwing money at them doesn't solve those problems.
As for the pregnancy issue, there is no excuse for getting pregnant unless that's your goal. The problem is that people are careless then don't want to be held accountable. If the only way to avoid being held responsible is to kill another human, then you just learned a valuable lesson...life isn't fair.

I support every single policy the Trump administration is for, but I can't stand for Trump. As a politician, he has done great things for the country, except the debt of course. I agree that the other side has been against him since before he took office, but most of the division and problems he faces, and the Republican party face, are of his own doing. He has the mental capacity of a 12 year old boy. He's the bully we all grew up with, that once he got his arse kicked, turned into the biggest pussy we ever knew. The constant belittling of anyone that doesn't agree with him is proof that he is unstable.
So, when I voted this year, I asked myself is it worth tearing the country and the party apart for four more years, or is it ok to lose this battle and fight another day. I chose to write in my candidate instead of voting for the lesser of two evils. I knew I was throwing my vote away. I knew he would destroy the party on his way out.
