Mexican feather grass is nice but needs to be planted in dry, sandy or Rocky soils. People try to use it in clay soils and it will survive 2 or 3 years and then die off.
Gulf muhly is a good grass but pretty boring except those 2 weeks in the fall it blooms pink.
Look at Little Bunny Hamelin grass, this is your best bet in areas with clay soils and wet soils. Weeping Love Grass is another option.
