I suspect what we're dealing with today - the globalist/nationalist schism - started strongest in this country with Sr. Bush and his "new world order". After the fall of the Soviet Union, I believe there was a concerted ideological push for a globalist economic supreme power. The problem is during Clinton's administration, China entered the picture.
China is the hub around which this entire wicked globalist machine turns. When Trump challenged China, that's when the hysteria machine went into overdrive. The overreach by the left is to send a message - nationalism by either party will no longer by tolerated in American politics and those who champion it will pay.
It's about money entirely, not communism or capitalism. This is why its biggest supporters and weapons and massive global monopolies all pulling in one political direction.
