FWIW interviews with Freeman - makes sense

I feel very strong about Freeman headed to Baton Rouge.....
One thing that is a positive is that no one is talking about if we don’t get him. Doesn’t seem to be a plan B which means they are all in on Freeman. Rumors of more interviews would have came out by now.
Also rumors are that the interview started a week ago and the returning players know about it. That is why they are coming back. Today was a formality and giving Freeman the grand tour and lay of the land.
He’s in!

I agree with this. Interviews didn’t start today. He didn’t come down just to check out the campus and eat gumbo. He’s in.

So his interview at Notre Dame was just for show, but his interview at LSU was to work out the final details? And if Fickell says "hold up, I think I am getting another opportunity elsewhere."

I tend to agree with you.
Freeman is truly weighing options and letting the process play out. That’s perfectly understandable and he should......he’s a very hot commodity.

do mistake "botching" with hiring the wrong guy. O has hired many people that have not worked, but generally speaking, he has gotten who he wanted.

The great thing is that I think he’ll turn our defense into a top 10 defense..the bad thing is that he will be a head coach in a few years because of it. But I’ll take it.

If O makes public plan A he’s ripped for horrible negotiation skills for going public. If he doesn’t announce plan B or C he’s ripped for not announcing his back up plans and accused of having no plan. Lol.

No, promoting Corey Raymond to DC has always been Plan A. The Freeman interview was just to build leverage to keep Raymond's salary below $3M.
