How come everytime someone posts...

that they think LSU will be 9-3, they are called disgraceful and they are not real LSU fans? Are you only a real fan if you have blinders on and think that we will go 14-0 every year? I don't think 9-3 is unreasonable at all. I think we go 1-2 vs. AU, UF, and UGA. And we lose one other SEC game. Does that mean I should turn in my season tix because I'm not a true fan?

Anyone who thinks that's not possible is a moron. This team will likely hit somewhere between 1-3 losses unless there is a total meltdown (which I don't expect).

Its not that no one thinks it could happen. Most reasonable people agree that its very unlikely LSU goes undefeated this or any year. The problem is, no one likes to predict a loss. I don't understand why people like you insist on dwelling on losses. Whats up with that? The losses will come from time to time and we'll deal with them as they come. You'll have your chance to bitch and moan then. And aren't there plenty of other things to talk about than how many games we're gonna lose and to whom? Its pathetic.

If I was a betting man, I would say 9-3 is probably the most accurate prediction for this season... followed by 10-2... and 8-4.

No, you shouldn't turn them in. You should sell them to a true Tiger fan.
I'd be willing to take them off your hands, if that'll help you out.

Playing in a conference with coaching names such as Spurrier, Fulmer, Richt, Meyer, Nutt, Petrino, Saban, Tubberville, and Miles to only have 3 losses to me is pretty darn impressive. Just because you're a realist doesn't mean you're not a fan. I hope they go undefeated and will root for them to every season.

I am hoping to see 10-2 reg season, but bracing myself for the possibility of 9-3.
I would be disapointed in 9-3, but it is a distinct posability.
Honestly, with all the unknowns this team could be 8-4 or 11-1. This is the SEC, even with stacked teams with no questions, going undefeated ina tall order. Not only do you need to have experience and talent, but you also need breaks to go your way as well....
The season can't get here quick enough.....

Of course you can. There are new threads every day where you can predict the season's outcome. In fact, its getting a little
You are just gonna have to expect people to give you a hard time when you predict 3 losses. Thats all.

I feel the same way, but it just reminds me how spoiled our fanbase has become. 9-3 playing against Georgia, at Florida, and at Auburn is a pretty damn good record. Not to mention the average competition in the rest of our SEC schedule is the equivalent of playing top competition in many other conferences.

I never said that. Unwad your panties.

9-3 seems reasonable to me
We lost 2 games last year and we're replacing both of our quarterbacks, Dorsey, Hester, Steltz, both corners...
You could argue that we will upgrade at some of those positions (RB) but I don't see us doing better than 10-2 with the inexperience at QB. 10-2 would be a dream season with this team.

There is a big difference in what you want to happen and what logic tells you will happen. I want LSU to go 14-0. Logic tells me that they will likely be anywhere from 10-2 to 8-4. Anyone who cannot tell the difference in the two is a true ranter.

It's just tiresome. We won a national title last season, and there's no good reason why we can't do it again. Does that mean we won't lose 2 or 3 games? No, of course not, but it's just pointless to create a thread pointing out that LSU can lose. Everybody can lose. It's a part of sports.
Why not focus on the positive? If not, then at least give some damn good reasons for your worries--and no, the past two trips to Auburn do NOT count as legitimate reasons why LSU won't win there this fall.
Also, for an LSU fan to say that Georgia has the better team this year is just bizarre. Take off your anti-P&G glasses and see reality--there is no reason why Georgia should beat LSU this fall. Can they? Yes, of course. Do they have a better than 50% shot? Probably not.
And another thing that is annoying is repeating over and over again that you think LSU will lose a "trap game." Yes, it's a real worry to have, but if you're not adding any new information, there comes a point where all the cries of gloom-and-doom just get plain aggravating. Some people act like it's impossible for a team to be prepared to play South Carolina at full speed and 100% effort. Not true.
So criticism of LSU's chances is welcome, but for the love of God, give valid reasons for it. Don't just go with the old knee-jerk, "Everybody else has P&G glasses on and is a 'ranter' bit." That got old a long time ago.
We're fans of the defending national champions. I think it's about time we act like it.

Dude, it's the rant. You're dealing with a lot of people who probably attended LSU for a year and failed out. Don't expect erudite opinions.
9-3 is a very good guess, but don't be surprized by 10-2.

And on that note, if you had to bet your house on the record this season... what would it be?

If there were a roulette wheel and I had to place my ball on one spot? Probably 10-2.
