Lawrence didn't have great weapons this year and still had a really good season. He didn't have dudes running wide open all year. Nobody is drafting Lawrence bc he plays for Clemson - he could play for Duke and would still be drafted first overall bc of his talent and measurables.

Lawrence has other qualities that have made him the consensus number 1 for awhile now and its not necessarily because of his stats. I remember in their title game against Bama he looked off a DB then pump faked another one to create a wide open Tee Higgens (thats who I think it was). Thats the sort of thing you would see a Drew Brees or Tom Brady do, not a freshman in CFB. Its those kind of rare skills that have set him apart from the others.
