3 thoughts.

1. Linebacker will once again be the teams biggest weakness.

2. Safety could remain a weak spot, I really really hope at least one (if not both) of Sage Ryan and Derrick Davis Jr. are good enough to play immediately. Our best case scenario is that they’re both studs, and Davis puts on 10-15 lbs this summer to play SS, which I think is his better fit anyways.

3. We’ve already got sure got the interior of the o-line coming back, if we keep Deculus and 1 of Rosenthal / Wire then we’re returning a lot of experience on the o-line. Could become a major strength for this team, and would really allow TDP / Emery to shine.

4. Geaux Tigers

If we do get Freeman, I actually think it'll be a strength. He is a LB guy through and through.

I can see Ryan starting at free safety early in the season. Don't know when, but would highly expect it. Davis will be up to weight, but I think he takes a little more time to become "the guy". I'm actually expecting a veteran to hold that spot for one more year.

I fully expect Rosenthal to return and Deculus to enter the draft. Regardless, I also expect both lines to be the strength of the team. DL is going to be nasty and the OL will show improvement enough to finally get back on track with running the ball.

I don’t think so. A lot of folks look at how a guy performs as a freshman or sophomore and they assume he’ll get no better. That is rarely the case. Most assumed Charles and Deculus sucked going into 2019, but they blocked for a passing offense that won the championship. Hampton is a good talent. He will probably shine next year.

And Derrick Davis will be there next year. If he picks up the defense that guy is a day one starter at safety. Everyone is penciling in Sage Ryan, but I see him as more of a nickle guy. Davis is the real deal.

ETA: Whoops! Maybe I’m not quite over the Rona. I slipped from LB to Safety
