We got gifted a trip by my wife’s family one time when they couldn’t make it to their time share in Park City.

This was early in our marriage, I wasn’t making a ton of money and my new bride was making less. They corralled us in the lobby and I started reading the brochure where it said you had to make 100k or something to qualify to buy one. Told the lady this trip was a gift and we don’t make 100k, so we were kind of wasting time here. Got up and left. Told my wife this was the last time I’d be going on a time share trip.

The timeshare peddlers are really odd also. Just strange people that have somehow been brainwashed into thinking this shits a good idea. They also set up at the strangest of places. I’ve been hit up at a St Louis Blues game and the Memphis Bass Pro Shops with that hey you wanna go to Vegas for $100 spiel.

Wait they were out there pitching to people who were already on the timeshare trips? Did they know you were using a buddies trip and that's why they did that?

I went to one alone and the lady was pissed that I made that as a divorced woman and wouldn't buy into it. She basically called me a bad mother to my face repeatedly. I didn't know how high pressure it would be when I booked the free week in Orlando. I have taken the kids to Disney many more times and travel alot but I will NEVER sit through another time share presentation. We do occasionally travel as guests on my parents timeshare. Last time the guy kept trying to give me things to agree to sit through the presentation. I kept saying no. He offered $500 cash. I said no. Then I asked him if he was even authorized to give that. He admitted he was not and just wanted to see if I would bite on anything. He could see my reservations and knew we had two condos with 7 people and I was turning down amusement park tickets and restaurant gift certificates.
